WORKSHOP COORDINATOR
For the past three years, Bayimba Cultural Foundation has organized a wide range of activities aimed at bringing about important changes to the state of arts and culture in Uganda. Implementation of activities has been successful due to a determined and enthusiastic team. For 2010, we are looking for a voluntary Workshop Coordinator to join and enhance our Bayimba team.
Workshop Coordinator Job Description
In 2010, Bayimba Cultural Foundation organises a range of workshops. For a smooth organization and running of the workshops, we are looking for a determined and creative additional team member that signs up to the objectives and values of Bayimba Cultural Foundation and that is eager to contribute to a successful implementation of the 2010 Bayimba activities.
The Workshop Coordinator will be in charge of the following tasks (outputs):
- Prepare all workshop scenario’s (in close cooperation with workshop tutors and participants)
- Plan and coordinate logistics for workshops (venue, meals, accommodation, materials etc.)
- First point of contact for workshop tutors and participants
- Ensure workshop participants’ satisfaction and safety
- Monitor implementation of workshops and organise evaluation of each workshop
The Workshop Coordinator will closely work with all other team members to ensure successful implementation of his/her tasks. He/she will attend staff meetings and is expected to contribute (using his/her experience and skills) to the smooth running of Bayimba Cultural Foundation as a whole. He/she will be expected to keep a detailed record of implementation of tasks, which will serve as a basis for evaluating performance. If selected, the Workshop Coordinator will have two months of distance planning/organisation (March-April) prior to the implementation of the workshop and related activities.
Requested qualifications:
- Interested in and passionate about arts and culture
- Good planning and coordinating skills (ability to take on multiple tasks)
- Ability to work in a team (team player) with good interpersonal skills (ability to communicate with various personalities)
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to solve problems independently
- Well organized and with time management skills (able to meet deadlines)
- Familiar with use of digital media and communication
