KALL 4 CONTEMPORARY FASHION DESIGNERS
Since its first edition in 2008, some 100 known and upcoming artists and groups from Uganda, East Africa and beyond have performed at the annual Bayimba International Festival of Music and Arts. To ensure that all disciplines of arts find their way to the Festival, Bayimba Cultural Foundation has provided space to them at the Festival for showcasing their works. Last year, Bayimba Cultural Foundation also organised a workshop to promote fashion design for and by young people.
To further enhance creativity and innovation amongst fashion designers in Uganda, Bayimba Cultural Foundation wishes to involve Contemporary Fashion Designers to sketch and design the costumes for the participants of the Live Performance Workshops that are scheduled to perform at the Festival (see K410-03). Bayimba Cultural Foundation is therefore calling for artists to express their interest in this exciting assignment by submitting their creative ideas (according a theme of their choice) for Contemporary Fashion Designs. In case you are interested in this assignment, you are kindly requested to submit the following information by 30th April, 2010 to the address below (in case you submit your application by email, please limit your submission to 5MB):
- A completed entry form (download here).
- A profile/short biography (max. 800 words) including a presentation of relevant work.
- Your proposal and budget for the fashion designs.
Bayimba Cultural Foundation will confirm receipt of your entry form. A team will assess the submissions received and decide which designer will be assigned to take charge of this assignment.
