KALL 4 LIVE PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

Kall 4 Live Performance Workshop

Since its first edition in 2008, some 100 known and upcoming artists and groups from Uganda, East Africa and beyond have performed at the annual Bayimba International Festival of Music and Arts. In 2009, prior to the second edition of the Festival, Bayimba Cultural Foundation – with the aim of developing the live performance skills of Ugandan artists – organised its first ever Live Performance Workshop. The workshop resulted in an exciting joint performance by the participating artists at the Festival (e.g. Cindy, Sweet Kid, Julie Sesanga, Kid Fox, Sarah Ndagire, Kaz Kasozi and Baxmba Waves).

Following the successful formula of this workshop, Bayimba Cultural Foundation will again organise a Live Performance Workshop prior to the 3rd edition of the Festival. The workshop will take place in Kampala from 1st-16th September 2010. Bayimba Cultural Foundation again found experienced bands and musicians ready to assist and train participating artists during this workshop. Artists will jointly perform at the main stage of the Festival.

Bayimba Cultural Foundation herewith invites artists to express their interest in participating in the 2010 Live Performance Workshop. You are kindly requested to submit the following information by 30th June, 2010 to the address below (in case you submit your application by email, please limit your submission to 5MB):

  • A completed entry form (download here).
  • A profile/short biography (max. 800 words) with recent picture(s).
  • A presentation of your work (one or two of your recordings or favorite songs on CD, DVD or MP3).
  • A motivation for participating in the workshop (max. 500 words).

Bayimba Cultural Foundation will confirm receipt of your entry form. A team will assess the submissions received and decide which artists will participate in the Live Performance Workshop.

A modest performance fee will be offered to participating artists.

We are looking forward to receiving your submissions!
